Sailing in Georgian Bay

23 Jul

We’re off for a week of sailing with our friend Bill on his Alberg 37. Our plan is to enjoy dinner in Parry Sound and we will do some grocery shopping in the morning before we leave. Palatine is docked at Sound Boat Works.

From the dock we view the Parry Sound harbour and activity.

Friday night at anchor in Windsor Bay of Franklin Island. Tomorrow we will leave early at dawn and cross to Squaw Island.

We were underway at 6:30am. Red Rock in early morning, one of my favourite places.

We sailed all day at good speed, arriving at Squaw at 3:30 and never saw another boat.

We are sharing this paradise anchorage with one other sailboat and will stay here for a couple of days.

Leaving our anchorage in Collins Inlet near Keyhole Island we passed close to Flat Rock Light.

We are docked in Killarney at the Killarney Mt Lodge for the night and will have dinner in their dining room.
We’ve had a great holiday with Bill and will be leaving in the morning for a long drive home to Kingston. Ted will continue sailing with Bill for 9 more days until the ladies come to take his place.

Try Dinner at Gilly’s Restaurant. Just north of Kilbear Park on wharf. Highly recommended. Had dinner there last Sunday
