Day 26

4 Sep

We slept well until early morning when the noise from truck traffic started. It was a cool night but good temperature for our down sleeping bags. We travel with 4bags, 2 mummy style down, and 2 lightweight “Thermopalm” small rectangular bags. Having a lightweight and a medium down gives us options to match hot weather or to put one inside the other and use two if it gets close to freezing temperatures. This morning it’s 10 degrees C in Port Alberni.
It’s nice to wake in the morning with fresh smelling socks hanging above our heads.

We both agree that we have enjoyed enough gravel roads for a while. Hopefully we can find a quiet campground today in Ucluelet.
Highway #4 along the Kennedy River is a fantastic twisted piece of pavement that should be ridden some day on my Vstrom.
Stopping at the visitors center at the junction was a good idea because we learned where we could get a fantastic campsite at WYA campground.

OMG the Pacific coast
