Copper Harbor – Keweenaw peninsula

31 May

We did a U-turn along hwy #41 just north of Baraga and enjoyed some time with Paul Fetting at Mary Margaret’s Jewelry and left with some local samples of gemstones. What a wonderful craftsman who generously shared his time with us. He is one of those special people who I meet along my trips so special.

We visited the Mineral Museum of Michigan, aka A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum in Houghton. WOW what a beautiful display of both local and many other worldly minerals, jemstones and crystals.

A bargin admission price of $4 per person and reasonably priced samples.

We booked into the Bell Vista motel on the water. Awesome food for dinner at the Harbor House, expensive but worth it.

The Laughing Loon is a gift shop that everyone visiting here should go. The owner and her daughter are very nice people and the have an Austrailin Red Kellie just the movie Red Dog.

Breakfast in the morning was excellent at the Pines, later we met another Canadian rider who is on the ADV forum.
