on my way to Ely MM

6 Aug

I stopped a few times, Tower MN train museum

The Soudan Iron Mine, deepest in MN with hoist down to 2500ft still operating for tours.

The North American Bear Center was interesting and educational. It’s a safer way to experience black bears than to travel with me in Glacier National Park.

I thought of Sam & her sister Laura when I saw this sign in Ely.

I had a good flat iron dinner in Ely at the Rock Wood thanks to my waiter Jay. On my way walking back to the motel, the darkening sky and lightening reinforced my decision not to camp tonight.

At the Bear Centre, I hope you asked what it was about you that attracted your “bear admirer” in BC. Was it the biker gear? The 6 weeks without washing? The beard? Your personality? Please let your readers know so that all of us will know how we can reduce (or increase, depending) the chances of having a similar experience! On the bright side, it could have been a grizzly, or a skunk, or a porcupine.

More seriously, it looks as if you’ll have several rainy days on the last leg. Ride safely!
